Paris, 23rd February 2014.
La Guilde Internationale des Fromagers and la Confrérie de Saint-Uguzon.
At a ceremony of the 464th Chapter of the Guilde Internationale des Fromagers I was inducted into the Guilde as a Compagnon d'Honneur and appointed as its U.K. Ambassador.
The ceremony was led by Roland Barthélemy, internationally renowned cheese expert and Prévôt of the Guilde.
The ceremony was held at Le Ciel de Paris restaurant on the 56th floor of the Tour Maine-Montparnasse, and was attend by many members of the Guilde.
There was plenty of pageantry, the dinner was superb and it was a great event.
The Guilde and Confrérie de Saint-Uguzon is a non-profit organisation founded in 1969 by Pierre Androuet, a cheese maker and epicurean.
The Guilde is for dairy professionals who are dedicated to preserving standards in cheese making throughout the world and sharing their knowledge.
The Confrérie is for cheese aficionados and experts including chefs, restaurateurs, food scientists and food journalists.
I wish to thank Camille Mancelle, Stéphane Plessis and Isigny-Sainte-Mère for their support. It is greatly appreciated.
